Twenty-four years ago, just “about this time” in 1997, the song had risen to number 34 on the U.S. hit charts.
It was the third U.S. Top 40 hit for the female country singer born in Jackson, Mississippi, on August 28, 1982!
It was a single cut from her second album, “You Light Up My Life: Inspirational Songs,” and was a cover of “that song” (technically by Kasey Cisyk) that had been the No. 1 song in the U.S. for 10 consecutive weeks 20 years earlier.
From that week on, it had the highest number 34 position for three consecutive weeks.
